⚠ Not medical advice. TrialsCompass is a clinical trial search tool designed to assist healthcare professionals. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. All clinical decisions remain the sole responsibility of the treating physician.

1. About TrialsCompass

TrialsCompass is an AI-powered clinical trial matching tool developed for use by qualified healthcare professionals, primarily oncologists and related specialists. The tool searches publicly available clinical trial registries (ClinicalTrials.gov and the EU Clinical Trials Information System) and uses artificial intelligence to screen eligibility criteria.

TrialsCompass is an independent tool with no pharmaceutical funding and no conflicts of interest. It is developed and operated as a side project by a practising physician.

2. Eligibility — Healthcare professionals only

TrialsCompass is exclusively intended for licensed healthcare professionals. Access is strictly limited to:

TrialsCompass is not intended for patients, caregivers, or members of the general public. If you are a patient seeking information about clinical trials, please consult your treating physician or visit clinicaltrials.gov directly.

By creating an account, you make a formal declaration that you are a licensed healthcare professional and will use TrialsCompass solely in a professional clinical or research context. This declaration is recorded at the time of account creation and stored as part of your account metadata.

Making a false declaration constitutes a breach of these Terms and may result in immediate account termination. TrialsCompass reserves the right to verify professional status and to request evidence of registration or institutional affiliation at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account where professional status cannot be confirmed.

3. Classification as Clinical Decision Support

TrialsCompass is a Clinical Decision Support (CDS) tool. It is designed to assist qualified healthcare professionals in identifying potentially relevant clinical trials by searching publicly available registries and providing AI-assisted eligibility screening. It is explicitly not a diagnostic system, a medical device, or an autonomous decision-making system.

This classification means:

The treating physician is solely responsible for all clinical decisions. TrialsCompass is intended to reduce the time physicians spend searching registries manually — not to replace their expertise.

4. No medical advice

TrialsCompass provides information about clinical trials based on publicly available data. It does not:

All eligibility assessments produced by the AI are indicative only. The treating physician is solely responsible for all clinical decisions.

4a. Prohibition on patient accounts

Patients must not create accounts or use TrialsCompass directly. The tool is designed for use by healthcare professionals on behalf of patients, with all clinical descriptions anonymised before entry. Creating an account as a patient or entering directly identifiable patient information (name, national registry number, date of birth) is prohibited and constitutes a breach of these Terms.

5. Patient data and privacy

TrialsCompass does not store patient data. Clinical descriptions entered into the search tool are:

Users are responsible for ensuring that any patient information entered into the tool is appropriately anonymised in accordance with applicable data protection law, including GDPR.

6. Account and access

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You may not share your account with others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

7. Beta service

TrialsCompass is currently in public beta. During this period:

8. Limitation of liability

TrialsCompass is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any clinical outcomes, decisions, or consequences arising from use of this tool. The accuracy of trial data depends on the source registries (ClinicalTrials.gov and EU CTIS) which are maintained by third parties.

9. Intellectual property

The TrialsCompass platform, including its design, code, and AI prompting system, is the intellectual property of the operator. Trial data is sourced from public registries and remains the property of those registries.
